Interesting insight. I agree there was not enough analysis compared to the amount of storytelling, but as a student I found this useful as it had been a while since viewing the text so it was a good summary. The analysis is insightful but often lacked depth and did not strongly relate back to the themes.
Still, this was very helpfulin allowing themes and ideas to be formed and as always acquiring another persons interpretation aids my own analysis.
– The “butchering” of names did not bother me at all- if you had studied this film or watched it properly this would not be a problem.

NOTE: reading the comments was a great addition to understanding BR.
-* The idea of Deckhard being a replicant is considered ‘incorrect’ by some English teachers.

you totally missed the point here. The Unicorn is in reference to Deckard’s Unicorn dream sequence earlier in the film. Just as he knew the contents of Rachel’s implanted memories, due to his position above her in the hierarchy of society and therefore his access to her files, so, too, does Gaff know the contents of Deckard’s dreams, being above Deckard in the scheme of things. Therefore, Deckard is also a Replicant.

The unicorn also is a clue that Deckard is in fact a replicant himself. It mirrors the strange dream he had. His memories were implanted just like Rachaels.

There is also a fundamental misogynistic streak to the movie. The female antagonistic characters all suffer violent deaths while Roy becomes this God-like character. And also, Tyrell is the creator, giver of life – a woman’s role.
